The name
Cuates means twins.
Los Cuates is named for the owner’s twin boys. Since January 2022 it’s been a small, no-fuss taqueria on South Alamo doing one thing right: al pastor carved fresh off the trompo, with salsas made in house.

Every visit comes with the salsa lineup, made right here. Go green serrano if you like real heat, or the milder orange one if you don’t. Reviewers say: try them all.

“Upon walking in I saw two spits spinning in the flame with Al Pastor being cooked. … The tortillas were great! Perfect size for the taco and the meat on the taco was spot on for Al Pastor!”
“My partner loves Al Pastor and he was immediately blown away by these tacos when we tried them. Juicy, tender, very well marinated and the salsas pair really nicely.”
“Tacos were great. Al Pastor was fresh off the spit. … Staff was friendly and served the food fast. Highly recommend at the end of your night.”
“After 3 days of taco hopping around San Antonio, this place became our team’s absolute favorite spot! The tacos are incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made.”
